The Salisbury & District Angling Club was founded in 1941 with just 6 members. Today 72 years later the Club boasts nearly 2000 members with the best portfolio of any club.
Fly fishing for Brown Trout and Grayling on the chalk streams and rivers around Salisbury in Southern England. Including the rivers Avon, Nadder and the true Wessex chalkstreams the Wylye, Ebble and Wiltshire Bourne. Still water fly fishing for Rainbow Trout on small lakes. Coarse fishing on the Hampshire Avon, river Nadder and stillwater fishing at Petersfinger and Steeple Langford lakes.
The Club’s aim is to provide quality fishing at an affordable price, we are not an exclusive syndicate, although we do expect and require our Members to behave at all times in the best interests of the club and strictly adhere to the Rulebook.
Founded in 1941 with just six Members the Club now boasts a flourishing Membership of 2000 with Members from every walk of life and from many parts of the World. Membership is open to Ladies and Gentlemen over the age of 12 years.
Membership is divided into two categories, Game Premium and Coarse Mixed with full Membership being available to all persons residing within 14 miles of Salisbury. Persons living outside this radius may join as Associate Members and do not hold any voting power at the AGM.
Despite its wide ranging Membership the Club remains firmly in the hands of local anglers with a strong Management Committee elected bi-annually.
The Club employs 2 full time Keepers who are responsible for the management of the fisheries. These are ably assisted by a hard working party of volunteer Bailiffs. Should you decide to take up Membership, have some time available and would like to help look after your fisheries our Keeper would be pleased to hear from you.
