SADAC  Covid-19. Third Lockdown. January 2021

After initially being told all fishing was to cease on January 6th and accordingly closing our waters the Angling Trust have now had clarity from Government that fishing will be permitted from January 8th as one of the forms of daily exercise. This is under the strict rules applying to exercise and full information can be found on the Angling Trust website or Facebook page and in the Govt. publications.

One form of exercise each day, as close as possible to home and within walking or cycling distance. Where no other option exists you may travel a short distance by car, travel by car should be limited and local, “staying local means in the village town or part of the city where you live”.

Fishing should be limited to a few hours, the same as for exercise, you should not be taking meals or picnicking outdoors.

No form of competitive sport is permitted, so no match fishing.

No stays away from home, so no night fishing.

Distancing to be observed at all times. Do not use any huts or other facilities on site they will be locked.

Carry your own sanitiser and use it before and after contact with any locks , gates or any other item.

Wear masks if in contact with any of our staff or volunteers.

Take all litter home, leave nothing on site.

The club intends to fully support the Angling Trust guidelines and the country’s efforts to combat this virus. Please do not ignore any of these guidelines.

In order to provide some strictly local fishing for our members the following fisheries will reopen from Wednesday 13th January after this matter has been publicised at our AGM on the evening of the 12th. Our keepers need to go to each site to unlock and prepare, please be patient.

Fisheries will serve their immediate areas of population and adjacent rural areas.

*Where we have arrangements with commercial fisheries or other clubs such as Witherington, Bulford, Manningford and Test Valley lakes and where those waters  are open you should follow all their individual rules and  guidelines.

Coarse and mixed fisheries open:

Lord’s Walk

Town Water and Parsonage Farm

Constable, Deanery and Orchard Meadow

White Horse, Charford, Folds Farm , Burgate.

*Commercial Fisheries.  Witherington. Bulford. Test Valley Club waters, as above.

For now our own coarse lakes will remain closed, they present greater risk with more contact points possible and less room to move about at distance. Some of the banks have recently flooded and we would like to see them dry out a little and recover. We will try to get some more of the recovery work completed subject to strict guidelines. This will be reviewed as we move forward.

Game Fisheries open:

Hamer and Leominstead Lakes

Stapleford and Druids

Durnford beats 3 to 7

Abbey

Countess

*Commercial Fisheries . Manningford,   as above.
