Date: 09/07/2025 This is a half mile stretch of the River Avon in Amesbury that is noted for its specimen Grayling fishing and is one of the few places on the Avon above Salisbury where Coarse fishing is permitted. The stretch is popular as a winter trotting venue where there is a real chance of catching a 2lb Grayling. Coarse fishing is available on both banks of the main river and the side stream. Although predominantly a Grayling and Brown Trout fishery there are also Dace and Roach present too. Season 16th June to 14th March inclusive. Roach and Dace are the predominant species in this popular fishery with Grayling to be found in the shallower. faster stretches and Chub and occasional Bream possible in the slower reaches.
